Adrian Mannarino vs Tomas Machac Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Indian Wells
by Steve Ashfield | in ATP Indian Wells Predictions
We could well see a seed be knocked out in this second round match at Indian Wells. 21st seed Adrian Mannarino takes on unseeded Tomas Machac who has been showing good form of late. In the next round of this outdoor hard court Masters 1000 tournament, the winner could face 13th seed Grigor DImitrov. Mannarino is the world number 21 and reached the third round here last year. His best ever performance is making it to round four but that was achieved nine years ago. 2024 hasn't been going too well for him. It began with three out of four matches being lost in the outdoor hard court United Cup team tournament. He got to the last 16 of the Australian Open but had a tough time with all three matches going to a final set. Better form was shown when reaching the Dallas semi-final but he only won one completed set to get that far after a walkover and a retirement. Mannarino has lost his last three matches.
Tomas Machac is up to a career high ranking in the live list. after moving up to 59th. He's had a consistent year with a last 16 in Brisbane and then causing a shock in the Australian Open when beating the seeded Francis Tiafoe. Machac eventually lost in the last 32 which is his best performance in a Grand Slam event. Further success came on hard courts with a quarter final in Marseille. To get to this second round in Indian Wells, he beat Stan Wawrinka in three sets, losing the middle one. We tip him to beat the 21st seed in this match.
