Wildcard Stan Wawrinka will seek his first win against unseeded Adrian Mannarino when they meet next in Basel. The two are lined up to square off in the first round on Tuesday. Let’s look at the stats and a prediction for this match.

Mannarino has beaten Wawrinka in their three previous meetings. Their most recent meeting, at the Australian Open, saw all five sets played and we should be in for another gruelling battle.

Mannarino has compiled a nervy 15-30 record alternating between the tour and challenger circuits. A semi-finalist in Dallas earlier in the year, he has posted five wins in eight indoor matches.

Stan Wawrinka will hope playing on home soil enables him to avoid a fourth successive loss in this fixture. The Swiss star is a two-time Basel semi-finalist but on his return last year, suffered a first-round loss.
