Ninth seeded J.J.Wolf takes on unseeded Adrian Mannarino in the second round of the Delray Beach Open. The winner of this match will face either top seed Taylor Fritz or unseeded Emilio Gomez in the quarter finals. Wolf began this week ranked a career high 39th but was only 67th in mid-January. He's risen up the rankings thanks to his run to the last 16 at the Australian Open. He's followed that up well and last week got to the semi-finals in Dallas. That included a win over world number 14 Frances Tiafoe before losing in the last four to John Isner but did take his opponent to a third set tie-break. He's only had one previous meeting with Mannarino and it's a recent one. He beat the French player in the Auckland Classic, winning the match in straight sets.

Mannarino started this tournament in 59th place in the rankings. However, he's down to 66th in the live llst as he tries to defend the points earned when reaching the quarter final in this tournament last year. The 34-year-old didn't make a great start to the new year. He only won one of his singles matches in the United Cup. His loss came against Borna Gojo who was ranked 144th at the time. A loss to Wolf followed in Auckland and he only got to the second round of the Australian Open losing in four sets to Alex de Minaur. Form has picked up a little since then with a win over Marton Fucsovics in the Davis Cup and a quarter final in Dallas last week. He had a struggle in the first round of this Delray Beach Open as he had to come from a set down to get past Daniel Altmaier. Back Wolf to get the win here.
